| Description: |
The Director of Accounting and Control manages the companies overall financial budgeting and reporting functions and is the chief interface with outside auditors. Reporting directly to the CFO, this person must be a hands on, roll up the sleeves type of manager who understands monthly, quarterly and annual reporting at a detail level. She/he will be responsible for statutory and internal reporting for the two domestic property casualty insurance companies as well as GAAP reporting for GMF Financial Services, Corporation. Another major responsibility will be yearly and periodic budgeting and forecast updates for these entities. The director will have four employees reporting to her/him and thus will be responsible for training, administration and the most efficient use of these important assets. The individual should examine opportunities to improve department performance and recommend solutions to problems when appropriate. Her/his mission will be to preserve and protect Company assets while providing accurate and timely service to customers, agents, vendors and employees. To succeed and thrive in this role, the individual should be a strong communicator, team player and multi-tasker that is able to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic business environment.

| Requirements: |
10-15 years of experience in financial management, auditing experience preferably within the insurance industry. Excellent computer skills. Experience with Solomon Knowledge of French/European accounting preferred. Experience in the planning, supervision, and directing of audit personnel and projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially related to personnel development, project management, budgeting, planning and management reporting. Able to effectively and diplomatically interface with all levels of management and personnel. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Good presentation skills.
